welcome to lorem (ipsum)!
Ipsum. A mega-city that is located beachside, with mountains and a river surrounding its expansive homes and towering buildings. The city is beyond beautiful... yet none of the residents have any idea how they arrived, and have yet to leave, because Ipsum is a city you can never leave -- not by choice. People appear here without any knowledge where they are, no one knows what country or world they are even in. Yet, the city still provides for her people. Jobs, homes, goods are all readily available, and there is a place for everyone, be it the good or bad — Ipsum shall provide.
Please make yourself at home… you will not be returning to yours any time soon.

Sometimes, living half in the past could be an advantage, too. It made it easier to count cards, that was for sure. The others at the table hadn't had half the lucky streak he'd been having, but Spike wasn't stupid. He lost just often enough to avoid drawing any real suspicion. It wasn't like he needed to strike it rich in a night, he just wanted to ensure he had a bit of a buffer until he could snag a decent bounty again.
Leaning back in his seat with a chuckle, he flipped his face-down card to reveal another winning hand, "What can I say, fellas, Lady Luck's on my side tonight." Grinning, he reached for his drink; Luck may be a fickle mistress, but if you knew how to sweet talk her, she could be good company for a night.
The comment from behind earned a chuckle, "Don't I know it." No, he didn't trust luck, that was why he was making his own. If he'd learned anything from watching Jet and Faye gamble with each other it was to tweak the odds whenever possible. Still, he made sure to lose the next hand, then finally turned to find out who it was that spoke up.
"Looking to join? Room for one more." it wasn't a full table, and if his gut feeling was right and the guy had caught on to his tricks, he might actually be interesting to play against. If he was as creative a player as Spike himself was, it might actually be like real gambling again. He had a comfortable pile of winnings, he could afford to actually play for a while.
